It's Jeffrey, my new found friend! How cute he is! As you can see, he's kind of sleepy here. We had a lazy Sunday. As much as I can, I spend time with him. This weekend, we bonded. Early this morning, he went up to me to ask for his usual breakfast and treats. Then he meowed asking for me to brush him. Oh, how soft his fur is. He's such a lovely cat and very behave. So I obliged and I really enjoyed brushing him. Who wouldn't?

I found this picture that I thought I lost. I was meaning to post this for WS sometime ago in May but wasn't able to do so. So now, fortunately I remembered that one Saturday morning coming home from church, I saw a little turtle all alone slowly trying to cross the road going to the pond nearby which I'm guessing is his or her home. Isn't he or she cute? I couldn't resist taking a picture. I had a turtle pet in the Philippines before so he/she reminds me of him.

Week of June29: Random Nosy Questions

1. What are your plans for today?
* Today, my plans were fulfilled. I went to my doctor's appointment in the morning, went to work in the afternoon and then went grocery shopping at night. Fun!

2. Who was the last person you talked on the phone with?
The last person I talked to on the phone was my friend Gie.

3. What was the last tv program you watched?
*The last tv program I watched was the local channel.

4. What was the last thing you ate?
*The last thing I ate was Nissin noodles. I didn't have time to prepare dinner because I went grocery shopping.

5. What time did you get out of bed today?
*I got out of bed today at y usual time which is around 5 am. I went back to sleep though because I don't have to work in the morning because of the doctor's appointment.

Yey! It's time once again for Weekend Snapshot. Last Saturday, I went to two parties. Only, I can post pictures of just the birthday party that happened in the afternoon. Anyway, I was able to take some shots and here they are.




There was an abundance of good Filipino food. There were lechon, pansit, menudo ( not sure of this one ), chopsuey (see picture) and barbecued pork chops ( not sure of this one also, hehehe ). Karaoke session started after we had our fill. It was very enjoyable! Once again, we had the chance of meeting and catching up with friends. I wonder when the next get together will be.

That's our little group! We did a surprise baby shower for our friend ( wearing a gray and pink dress ) on Saturday. She was so surprised, she cried a little bit. We are so excited for her because she's going to have twins with the names Rurik and Freya. We are so happy for her and her family.

By the way, Gie and I won the guessing game contest wherein we guessed the gender of the twins. :)

Yesterday was a very relaxing time with my friends. We planned to walk on the beach very early in the morning. We didn't make it on the planned time but we didn't mind. We chatted over breakfast and headed to the beach at around 8:30 am. The weather was perfect. Not too hot and not to windy. I almost took a swim but since my friends weren't prepared, we just did a leisurely walk at the beach. It wasn't too crowded. We saw surfers, families, couples, single people and lifeguards enjoying the sun and beach. We even saw a dying jellyfish which you can see on the picture above. Too bad, we couldn't do anything.

This the main reason why I have neglected to update this blog. Have you ever gone there? I went to Disney once and would love to come back but this time, we went to this place and the other sister theme park. See the hordes of people? People from different countries of different races all over the world came to this park last Saturday. This is only one theme park in Kissimmee, Florida. Just imagine all theme parks combined into one. Amazing! Whew, it was hot!

I spent my weekend in the mall again with Gie. She was craving for a cheesecake last Saturday night but then since it was already late, we decided to go the following morning. We went to our favorite mall which is only a few minutes away and ate at Cheesecake Factory. Her wish came true! I had the Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake with the picture below. That is really good!

Any guess why I posted this picture? Well, I am just happy to say that I had a "bedroom makeover" last Saturday. My bedroom now is just awesome, to my standards of course. I got a bedroom set consisted of a headboard, a footboard, rails, two nightstands, a chest drawer, a dresser with a mirror and two gorgeous bronze table lamps along with two lampshades. Those furnitures were made out of oak in classic cherry that goes well with the bed set. I just love them especially my dresser! And I was surprised by the extra little drawers on all the furnitures that I didn't notice at first. They give extra storage space, you know. I thought at first that they might not fit in the bedroom but wow, they all fit and looks really pretty! On top of this, I got these furnitures at a deal. Was I lucky!

This picture was taken in May 2006. My co-workers and I went to the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens on a fine Saturday afternoon. After looking at the exhibits, we went out to the Gardens to get some fresh air. We were greeted with gorgeous flowers and a very nice view of the St. John's river. Here's my Weekend Snapshot. I visited a friend yesterday and saw this funny but cute refrigerator magnet that's about work. We used to work at the same company before. I saw this one on her fridge and it made me smile. As expected, I had an enjoyable afternoon. We had a relaxing conversation and caught up with each other's lives over chips and picante sauce. Yummy!

I'm so surprised to be the featured blog on Weekend Snapshot. It's truly a wonderful feeling! I love to participate in this meme and I am proud to be a member. Although I am not a frequent postie, I will see to it that I can post at least twice a month. I really wanted to post weekly but can't due to my full time job from Monday to Friday which leaves my weekends spent on running errands, doing house chores, meeting up with friends and church. We have some really nice spots here in Jacksonville and I am bent on capturing them through my blogs. Just check this blog from time to time. wink*

I took this picture when we went to St. Augustine, Florida on April 28, 2007 last year. Yes, as you've noticed, it's the same 28th day of April but it was a Saturday. It was a one day visit to the oldest city of the US. We rode the trolley and one of the stops is the museum. Can't help but click my camera. hehehe... I didn't realize it's already one year from that visit until I found this picture. That was fun! I learned a lot about St. Augustine in one day. I hope I can visit again and have a two day stay just to explore the city some more like a tourist from a far away state. hehehe... I had one time tried to take the helicopter tour of the city but my friends backed out the last minute. I hope there will be another chance. Good thing, St. Augustine is only an hour drive from here.

I was invited by a friend and her family to see Monster Jam in the Jacksonville Stadium last Saturday night. That was the first time I've watched that kind of contest. I didn't expect to enjoy it immensely but I did. That was fun! Sunday, I went to a birthday party of a friend's son. That was fun, too! :)
